The library where I work is scheduled to be partially torn down starting sometime in the next couple months.

It will be subsequently refurbished/rebuilt into a poorly laid out and some say shittier library than the one SF State currently has.

So while all this is going on, the library staff will be moved to permanent tent structures for three years. No one is happy.

Monday and Tuesday were spent relaxing and recovering from the kid. I also watched Casablanca for the first time ever.

Sunday, April 27, 2008

D and I took Theo to Golden Gate Park to feed the ducks.

Couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

I think we all had a good time.

Saturday, April 26, 2008

I had to baby-sit Theo for the weekend.

I was worried about the prospect of being responsible for a kid for that length of time but I soon realized that it wasn't as difficult as I imagined it would be.

It provided the perfect excuse to do all the fun things that I still want to do, but can't do because I'm not a kid anymore...like go to Chuck E. Cheese.

Friday, April 25, 2008

I skipped out on work early today and headed out to Delores park.

After lunch at Tartine, D and I enjoyed a beer and an ice cream cone respectively on the grass.

Observations:
-No one works in San Francisco
-There are a lot of unattractive people in San Francisco

Busted. I guess?

I did indeed steal the name of my blog from a line in a Jeff Buckley song.

I like that Ed was so enraged by this that he typed in the angry emoticon.

Anvi wanted to chat a little and get some food before her class.

Every time I talk to her, I have two prevailing thoughts. One, she is very busy. Two, she is very cute.

Anvi: I want to get a burrito but you have to help me eat it.

later...

Anvi: I ate it all, sorry.

Daniel has been growing a beard since January.

I called it his strike beard for a while but the strike is long over and he still has it.

Apparently he's shaving it off this weekend.

I hope he keeps some of it. Mutton chops are sexy.

I got to spend a few hours with Nikki and Sarah before Nikki flew back to New York.

Beautiful ladies, good conversation and chevys happy hour make for a wonderful combination.

Everyone was in full animation mode so this is the best picture I got of the occasion.

Another wedding photo because I failed to take one on Sunday.

I really did have a good time despite the poor beverage selection.

The weather was perfect, I was with my family and there was a delicious taco bar...enough said.

Saturday, April 19, 2008

The wedding reception was held in my Cousin's backyard.

Me: Let's go get a drink...

Dave: Ok

Me: God Damnit!

View from my parent's yard.

I wish I had been able to spend more time in Ridgecrest.

My cat Madeline seems to be loving it down there which was nice to see.

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Preparing for another trip to the south land for my cousin's wedding.

I made an ipod play list to make the seven hour drive a little less tedious and got a pedicure at Supernails (one word).

Despite the drive, missing work is pure joy.

Today was AIDS Day.

The Human Sexuality classes have to make art projects using various contraceptive devices and bring them to school. They are displayed on the lawn for everyone on campus to see.

Sarah and I took Human Sexuality together a few years back. Of course we waited until the night before AIDS Day to do our project.

We drew a checkerboard and glued condoms on the board to represent the checker pieces. It was by far the lamest and least creative project of the bunch.

I remember the morning we had to display it, we threw it on the lawn and ran away in shame.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

I go into Jamba Juice quite often.

Their selection has dwindled and they charge more than they used to for less smoothie, but I continue to go.

The Peach Pleasure is heavenly.

Monday, April 14, 2008

Free passes for film screenings are often posted on the bulletin board at work.

Most of the time they're snatched up within minutes of being posted, but this one for 88 Minutes has been up for days.

I guess Pacino doesn't draw them in like he used to.

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Went to sample the new yogurt place on Irving.

Tuttimelon is a Pinkberry rip off that is sprouting locations all over the city.

I tried the original flavor with fruit loops. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't Pinkberry.

I don't approve of the name Tuttimelon but it's cheap and within walking distance of my apartment, so I'll probably go back.

Saturday, April 12, 2008

It was sweltering in my apartment all day due to the 80 degree weather.

A trip to 7-eleven for a slurpee was really the only answer.

The hostess cupcakes were a total impulse buy.

Friday, April 11, 2008

Pizza and beer at Chris/Ed/Josh's pad.

We watched Ed's old VHS copy of Moonwalker -the classic starring Michael Jackson. MJ wrote it himself, so needless to say, it is totally fucking bizarre. To my surprise, Ed and I were the only ones in the group who had ever seen it.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

My office mate has started bringing his new pupster Kobe in to work occasionally. He wants to bring Kobe with him everyday but needs to get all the necessary permissions first.

I think it will work out nicely for all involved.

Giants v. Padres

I took this picture not too far into the game and D already had a strained look on his face.

The game sucked. No one scored until the very last part of the 9th inning, when the Giants hit a home run.

By the end of the night I was certain frost bite had set in and my feet and hands would have to be amputated in the coming days.

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

Dinner at Tasty Curry.

While enjoying my Paneer, I, and everyone else in the restaurant were serenaded by this little girl. Judging from her age, you'd think she'd be singing something Hannah Montanaesque...but no. Instead we were treated to Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover by Simon and Garfunkel and Mexico by James Taylor, among other gems.

This was the best picture I could get of her without being obvious about it. I didn't want to seem creepy.

Re-binding of the hella old periodicals continues.

I'm looking forward to finishing these up. It's depressing to see that these old journals were allowed to reach such a state of disrepair.

This one (1869) doesn't look so bad but others are literally crumbling from age.

Sunday, April 6, 2008

Remembering to take a picture every day is harder than one might think...

Hung out with John and Jen in the morning and then did some grocery shopping (much needed). D made enchiladas.

Saturday, April 5, 2008

Saturday was spent primarily in Berkeley, visiting book stores, eating and looking for the elusive Urban Outfitters.

Later, John's friend made us dinner and I experienced Rock Band for the first time.

Even later, I experienced the film Dune for the first time and promptly fell asleep.

Friday, April 4, 2008

After work drinks with Sarah at an Embarcadero wine bar.

We spent the evening pondering life and love over food and drink, which is by far one of my favorite activities.

I had a lovely time with her, as always.

Thursday, April 3, 2008

D's friends John and Jen are visiting from So Cal and are staying in my spare bedroom.

Because I am broke and had work the next day, the night was spent watching South Park and gabbing before hitting the sack early.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

No picture for Wednesday. I spent the day getting used to being back at work and preparing for house guests.

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

The drive back to SF was bittersweet. I was looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again, but that's about all I was eager to return to.

A ridiculous amount of insect carcasses adorn my windshield.
