Today D cleaned out his closet.

It was a veritable treasure trove.

Among the items found: one hot pink hat, one sports visor with the Trojan condom logo on it, one actual condom (unused), and one outdated sports book of some kind that he seems really excited about.

Had lunch with Ed and Andrew.

Me: What did you do for Memorial Day?

Ed: My family had a barbecue.

Me: Every time I talk to you, you tell me your family had a barbecue.

Ed: Yeah. We're having another one next weekend.

I decided to go to bed early tonight.

So early in fact, that I got up a few minutes later and watched some TV in the living room.

I try to force myself into a decent schedule, but it never seems to work very well.

I got nothin'.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

I generally work on this blog at the office, which is why I'm always falling behind and having to back-date my posts.

My original plan was to update by the end of the day, everyday.

I have to get better at this.

It's always nice when someone's vehicle decides to catch fire on the freeway when all you want to do is get back home.

Good thing I had my cranberry slush from Sonic. So good!

D's mom was nice enough to drive us around to see the sights of Merced.

They are few.

We stopped at an air museum and looked at some ridiculously huge planes.

Saturday, May 24, 2008

D and I drove to Merced to visit with his family for the weekend.

The best part about Merced is that they have a Sonic.

We went twice. I got a burger the second time. I guess that makes me a bad vegetarian. Or... not a vegetarian at all?!

Either way, it was worth it.

I happen to know some lovely ladies that are current/former members of the SF Scooter Girls.

Tonight was their fourth anniversary celebration.

Highlights: Cheap booze, dancing, giant cupcakes.

Thursday, May 22, 2008

It's the last week of school.

Students and parents and shopping carts everywhere.

I remember the feeling. Trying to furiously get my shit out of my dorm room - being excited about the impending summer.

I can't decide if I miss the feeling or not.

Destroyer at the Independent.

For some reason a smoke machine was employed (for atmosphere, I guess?) so I couldn't get a clear picture.

The crowd seemed very off-beat to me and people kept falling down the stairs I was standing next to.

I felt like I was paying more attention to the annoyances around me than the actual show.

I saw this same asshole at the AIDS Walk last year.

As much as I dislike people like him, I must admit that his presence gets the normally apathetic students riled up in a way that puts a smile on my face and gives me hope.

The library is asking that faculty and staff take pictures of people and places in and around the library as part of a photography project.

I guess they're putting together something to remember what the place looked like before the remodel.

I don't know if they're expecting quality stuff, but I'm thinking about doing it. It would be good practice.

My second Giants game of the season.

The cold had returned in full force and we left after the 7th inning.

They were losing. We were freezing.

The real highlight of the night happened at Beauty Bar where a coked out chick danced with insane intensity for about two hours while everyone looked on in horror. She humped an ATM and stood on her hands.

Somehow I didn't get a picture.

My blog has a sitemeter.

It tells me the number of hits my blog gets per day along with the location of those hits, among other things.

Most of them are from San Francisco, understandably. But I get a few random ones from other areas of the country and a hit or two from outside the U.S. on occasion.

I wonder what these people are searching for when they stumble across my blog?

Margaritas at Park Chalet with Stephanie and Ed.

It's the place to be on a warm night if you live in the Sunset.

The "entertainment" consisted of a guy playing Beatles songs on his acoustic all evening. That got old but he was easy to ignore after a few drinks.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

On Tuesday and Wednesday it was almost too hot to live. My lack of motivation to leave the apartment resulted in zero pictures being taken.

Monday, May 12, 2008

D's lovely friend Lauren celebrated her birthday at Cha Cha Cha, a place I'd never been but had always wanted to try.

The food looked fantastic but I did not partake due to lack of funds.

Next time.

Beard Papa's is a pastry shop from Japan that sells a variety of sweets.

Their most popular item is the cream puff - I don't actually know that for a fact but I do know that it should be.

Their logo has always mystified me. Is Beard Papa a fisherman? And if so, what does that have to do with delicious pastries?

Saturday, May 10, 2008

Spent a few hours at Kyle's 24th.

It was your standard party aside from an unusual game that the guys were playing.

The object was simply for one guy to punch another guy in the balls when he was not paying attention.

All of them seemed to be willingly participating in this game, which I thought was strange.

After a while, the guys started standing around with their hands permanently afixed to their crotches.

The Castro is one of my favorite theaters ever.

Every time I'm there, I feel overwhelmed by how ornate and beautiful it is.

Tonight I saw Godard's Contempt.

...And for some reason I am not able to click out of the italics option, so I will just continue like this...

Anyway, it was silly, tragic, provocative and even a little boring at times.

It made for an interesting experience

I've been asked to pack up my desk in preparation for the move.

It's amazing the amount of shit that can accumulate in two and a half years.

I guess I'm better off than the people who have been here for thirty.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

I saw Iron Man again. This time with Nathan.
The film was a lot less exciting the second time around.

Pre-show he wanted kill some vampires and I played it safe with Ms. Pacman.

When hanging out with Nathan, you are guaranteed to have at least one conversation you would never expect to have.

Nathan: I don't even think Orville Redenbacher is real.

Me: What do you mean?

Nathan: I think they made him up. He never existed.

Me: Like a popcorn mascot?

Nathan: Yes.

I get annoyingly frequent update e-mails from a Facebook application I added at some point in the distant past.

Apparently, my friends find my lack of tech-savviness and my absenteeism to be character flaws.

I don't know what those things even mean, to be honest but I double dog dare you guys to say it to my face!

Monday, May 5, 2008

I walked into the break room and found some muffins sitting on the table.

They looked like blueberry, but when I bit into one of them, I discovered that there were chocolate chips inside as well. Blueberry chocolate chip muffins are not good.

I asked around but no one admitted to bringing them in.

I figure it was some sort of baking experiment, and when the mystery baker found out that the muffin's tasted like ass-crap, he/she decided to ditch them in the break room.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

Stephanie had some shopping to do for a friend at Babies R Us so D and I accompanied her.

There was a lot of me saying, "awwww" to everything we looked at and D saying, "that's stupid" to everything we looked at.

Steph bought some sort of diaper contraption.

Made my way to the Mission again on Saturday.

While there I got a craving for a burrito, as I often do.

Tried Pancho Villa's for the first time.

They have a decent veggie burrito but I doubt I'll go out of my way to go back there.

Friday, May 2, 2008

Stephanie, D and I went to see Iron Man.

I'm not typically a fan on these types of films but this one surprised me. I liked it a lot. Not enough to write a review or anything. It's not P.T. Anderson. But it was worth 10 bucks.

P.S. I've been using the iphone to take pictures for the last week or so. Forgive the poor quality.

Thursday, May 1, 2008

If you take Muni anywhere during rush hour, you'll notice that everyone has blank looks on their faces.

I suppose it's just a result of exhaustion.

After braving the bleak Muni ride, I met D in the mission for some expensive but delicious tapas.
